How to compress an image in 3 steps

  2. Set a size or quality

    Enter Maximum size (KB) for a size limit, or adjust image quality. Apply the settings to your selected files. If the target is too small, resize the image or choose another format.

  3. Check and download

    Export selected images, compare quality and check the actual output size. Download individually or collect the selected results in a ZIP.

Reduce image MB to KB for an upload limit

For a form that accepts 200 KB, enter 200 in Maximum size (KB). PixFinish checks the encoded output against 200,000 bytes. Changing the unit from MB to KB alone does not shrink a photo: compression, fewer pixels or a different file format is what reduces the file.

Choose the balance between size and detail

JPG and WebP quality settings can make photos smaller at the cost of fine detail. PNG optimization preserves decoded pixels but does not always reduce file size. Inspect faces, lettering and textures before sending the result. A target that cannot be met produces an explanation rather than an oversized file presented as a success.

Private image editing on your device

Your images are opened and processed in your browser, not uploaded to a server. The website downloads the code and assets it needs to run, and some tools download a processing model. Those requests do not contain the photos you open. Download your results before closing the page; working images are not kept between visits.

Can I shrink photo size for free?

Yes. The tool has no account or per-image credit requirement. Processing uses your device, so time and capacity depend on image size and available memory.

Does compression change image dimensions?

The compression step keeps dimensions. Add a Resize step if you need fewer pixels to reach a smaller file size.

Can I compress several images together?

Yes. Import several images, select them, apply the compression settings and export. Each result is checked separately against its size target.
